Bang Bang Chicken Fried Rice: Easy Crispy Recipe

A delicious and easy-to-make fusion dish featuring crispy seasoned chicken tossed with savory fried rice, sweet chili sauce, and a hint of spicy sriracha.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked jasmine rice (preferably day-old)
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, and corn)
  • 3 green onions, sliced
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds and extra green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Toss chicken pieces in the mixture until well coated.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Fry chicken for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
  3. In the same skillet, stir-fry mixed vegetables for 2-3 minutes. Push to the side and scramble the beaten eggs until cooked, then mix with vegetables.
  4. Add the cooked rice to the skillet, breaking up clumps. Stir and let the rice crisp slightly on the bottom.
  5. Pour in soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha. Toss until the rice is evenly coated and hot.
  6. Add the crispy chicken and sesame oil back to the skillet. Toss to combine and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.

Notes

  • Using day-old cold rice prevents the dish from becoming mushy.
  • Adjust sriracha levels based on your heat preference.
  • Ensure the oil is hot before adding chicken to achieve maximum crispiness.
