Cheeseburger French Fry Bake: Easy Family Dinner

A hearty and comforting family dinner that combines the classic flavors of a cheeseburger with crispy golden French fries in one easy-to-bake dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 cups frozen French fries
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup pickles, diced (optional)
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and set aside a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the diced onion and minced garlic for 5 to 7 minutes until the beef is no longer pink.
  3. Drain excess fat, then stir in the salt, black pepper, paprika, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for a few minutes.
  4. Spread the beef mixture evenly across the bottom of the baking dish.
  5. Layer the frozen French fries evenly over the beef mixture.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese generously over the top of the fries.
  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until fries are golden brown and crispy and the cheese is bubbly.
  8. Top with diced pickles (optional) and garnish with sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, ensure the fries are spread in a single layer if possible.
  • You can swap cheddar for a Mexican blend or Pepper Jack for a spicy kick.
  • Make sure to drain the beef well to prevent the bottom of the bake from becoming greasy.
