Creamy One-Pot Pasta with Beef: Easy 20-Minute Meal

A rich and comforting 20-minute meal featuring ground beef and pasta in a velvety Parmesan cream sauce, all cooked in a single pot for easy cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 12 ounces pasta (penne or fusilli)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium heat. Brown the ground beef for 5-7 minutes, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent. Stir in Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour in the beef broth and bring to a boil. Add pasta, ensuring it is submerged.
  4. Reduce heat to a simmer, cover, and cook for 10-12 minutes until pasta is al dente and liquid is mostly absorbed.
  5. Lower heat and stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until creamy.
  6. Fold in frozen peas and heat through for 2 minutes.
  7. Adjust seasoning and consistency with extra broth if needed. Serve garnished with parsley.

Notes

  • Use penne or fusilli for the best sauce-to-pasta ratio.
  • If the sauce is too thick, thin it out with a splash of beef broth.
  • Ensure you stir occasionally while the pasta simmers to prevent sticking to the bottom of the pot.
