  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions until hot.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and cream cheese together until creamy and fluffy.
  4. Add granulated sugar and brown sugar to the butter mixture and beat for 2-3 minutes until light.
  5. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until well incorporated.
  6. Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Fold in mini chocolate chips if using.
  7. Grease the waffle iron with cooking spray or butter. Spoon about 1/4 cup of dough onto the center.
  8. Close the lid and cook for 3-5 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
