- 6 to 8 medium-sized apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and sliced
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon unsalted ghee
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
- 1 package (14 ounces) refrigerated pie crusts
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash)
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Fit one pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish, leaving an overhang.
- In a large mixing bowl, toss sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and flour. Let sit for 10-15 minutes.
