Ginger Lemon Turmeric Shots: Boost Your Immunity!

A zesty and spicy immune-boosting drink made with fresh ginger, turmeric, and lemon. This potent shot is designed to reduce inflammation and provide a concentrated dose of vitamins and antioxidants.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh ginger, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh turmeric root, peeled and chopped (or 2 tablespoons ground turmeric)
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)
  • 2 tablespoons honey (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1-2 cups water (adjust for desired consistency)
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop the fresh ginger and turmeric root.
  2. In a blender, combine the chopped ginger, turmeric, lemon juice, honey, black pepper, and 1 cup of water.
  3. Blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth. Add more water if a thinner consistency is preferred.
  4. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a bowl, using a spoon to press out all the liquid.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness with additional honey or add a pinch of cayenne pepper if desired.
  6. Pour into glass containers and store in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  7. Shake well before serving and enjoy as a daily morning shot.

Notes

  • Fresh turmeric can stain surfaces and hands; consider wearing gloves.
  • Black pepper is essential as it contains piperine, which increases the absorption of curcumin from turmeric.
  • If using ground turmeric instead of fresh, start with 2 tablespoons.
  • Leftovers can be frozen in ice cube trays for longer storage.
