- 1 package (3 oz) flavored gelatin (any flavor)
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- In a medium mixing bowl, pour the boiling water over the gelatin powder. Stir for about 2 minutes until completely dissolved.
- Add the cold water to the gelatin mixture, stir well, and let it cool to room temperature (do not let it set).
- In a separate bowl, combine heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.
- Using an electric mixer, whip on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form (about 3 to 5 minutes).
- Gently fold the cooled gelatin mixture into the whipped cream using a spatula, being careful not to deflate the air.
- Spoon the mixture into serving bowls or a large dish.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until completely set.
Notes
- Ensure the gelatin is cooled to room temperature before folding; if it is too hot, it will melt the whipped cream.
- Do not overbeat the cream or it will turn into butter.
- Garnish with fresh fruit or crushed graham crackers for extra texture.
- For a lower-calorie version, sugar-free gelatin can be used.
