Peach Cobbler recipe for the best easy dessert.

A classic, easy-to-make Peach Cobbler featuring fresh, juicy peaches topped with a golden, buttery cake-like crust. Perfect served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 2-quart baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup sugar, lemon juice, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, the remaining 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk and melted butter until just combined (lumps are okay).
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
  5. Spoon the peach mixture and syrup over the batter. Do not stir.
  6. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until the top is golden brown and the fruit is bubbly.
  7. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute fresh peaches with canned or frozen peaches if fresh are not in season.
  • Do not overmix the batter to ensure a tender crust.
  • Best served warm with vanilla bean ice cream or whipped cream.
