Red Lobster’s Shrimp Scampi recipe you can master.

A copycat recipe of Red Lobster’s famous Shrimp Scampi, featuring succulent shrimp sautéed in a rich garlic, butter, and white wine sauce served over tender linguine.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine (like Sauvignon Blanc)
  • 1 lemon, juiced and zested
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 pound linguine or spaghetti
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the linguine or spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt 6 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes; sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  4. Pour in the white wine and lemon juice. Bring to a simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Stir in the lemon zest and the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter until the sauce is silky.
  6. Toss the cooked pasta into the skillet. Add reserved pasta water as needed for consistency.
  7. Sprinkle with chopped parsley, toss to combine, and serve hot with grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes

  • Do not overcook the garlic to avoid bitterness.
  • If you prefer not to use wine, you can substitute with chicken broth.
  • Reserve pasta water to help the sauce emulsify and coat the noodles perfectly.
  • Serve with crusty bread to soak up the garlic butter sauce.
