Sweetened Condensed Milk Cookies: Easy 3-Step Recipe

These Sweetened Condensed Milk Cookies are incredibly soft, chewy, and easy to make. With just a few simple ingredients, you get a rich, creamy flavor and a delightful sugary crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sweetened condensed milk until smooth. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using.
  5. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, form rounded balls of dough and roll each ball in granulated sugar.
  6. Place balls 2 inches apart on the baking sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  7. Let cookies rest on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Ensure the butter is properly softened at room temperature for a smooth consistency.
  • Do not overbake; the centers should remain slightly soft when pulled from the oven.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days to maintain softness.
  • You can omit the sugar rolling step if you prefer a less sweet exterior.
