- Cook the lasagna noodles in a large pot of salted water until al dente
- Drain and lay the noodles flat on a clean surface
- In a skillet cook the ground beef with chopped onion and garlic until browned
- Add tomato sauce and season with salt black pepper and Italian seasoning
- In a mixing bowl combine ricotta cheese egg Parmesan cheese and part of the mozzarella
- Spread a layer of the cheese mixture over each noodle
- Roll up each noodle carefully
- Spread a layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a baking dish
- Place the rolled noodles seam side down in the dish
- Top with remaining meat sauce and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 25 to 30 minutes until bubbly and golden
- Let cool slightly before serving
- Use freshly grated cheese for better melting and flavor
Notes
Do not overcook the noodles to prevent tearing
Add spinach or herbs to the cheese mixture for variation
Store leftovers in the refrigerator and reheat before serving
