Ultimate Banana Pudding Delight

A creamy and indulgent dessert layered with fresh bananas, rich custard, and vanilla wafers for a classic southern treat.

  • Granulated sugar
  • All-purpose flour
  • Salt
  • Milk
  • Vanilla extract
  • Butter
  • Bananas
  • Vanilla wafers
  • Whipped cream

Method
 

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs sugar flour and salt
  2. Heat milk in a saucepan until warm
  3. Gradually add the warm milk to the egg mixture while whisking
  4. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat until thickened
  5. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla extract
  6. Allow the custard to cool slightly
  7. Slice bananas
  8. In a serving dish, layer vanilla wafers bananas and custard
  9. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with custard
  10. Top with whipped cream
  11. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving

Notes

Use ripe bananas for maximum sweetness and flavor
Do not overcook the custard to prevent curdling
Gently fold whipped cream to maintain light texture
Serve chilled for the best taste
Store leftovers in the refrigerator and consume within three days
